Calderdale Theatre School has several original plays available for performance by other youth theatres. All have been successful and are available with production notes.
Calderdale Theatre School is the Youth Theatre for young people from all over Calderdale.
It was established in 1968 and currently has over 80 members aged between 11 - 19. We run theatre skills classes for our members and also put on regular productions at Square Chapel, Halifax and elsewhere.
CTS is a member of the National Association of Youth Theatres and regularly attends the Big Youth Theatre Festival run each year by NAYT. We are also members of ISTA (The International Schools Theatre Association) and since 2004 we have attended Theatre Festivals in Holland, Belgium and Budapest. Earlier this year 12 members of the sixth form group took part in the International Schools Theatre Association Festival held at the Terezin Memorial Camp, just outside Prague. In October we will be part of the Berlin Festival.
Our professional staff have connections with local Theatre and Television companies and Theatre School members have the opportunity to be submitted for professional roles.
